Convenient fast charging at Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s is the second-biggest supermarket chain in the UK. In January 2024, the company introduced Smart Charge, an ultra-rapid EV charging brand. Smart Charge currently features 475 high-speed 150kW charge points at 58 Sainsbury’s locations across the UK.
You can now see all Sainsbury’s Smart Charge locations in your Plugsurfing app, start a charging session with your Plugsurfing card, shop while you charge, and collect Nectar points for your charging. You’ll also be able to access Smart Charge terminals in other solutions powered by Plugsurfing, including Polestar Charge and My Renault.
Topping up at Sainsbury’s is a perfect example of integrating EV charging into your routine. With convenient chargers you can use while running errands, you don’t have to go out of your way to charge your car.
Note: Sainsbury’s chargers currently do not support remote start and stop, so you’ll need to use your Plugsurfing charging card to start the session.
Collect 1 Nectar Point per £1 Spent
Plugsurfing users can also earn Nectar points with every charge at Sainsbury’s locations.
- Tap your charging card on the charger to start a charging session
- Use your phone’s QR code reader to scan the code on the Smart Charge unit
