Through this collaboration, XPENG drivers enjoy a complete end-to-end public charging experience through multiple touchpoints:
- In-car system – Find chargers directly from the dashboard, with key information displayed at a glance, including distance, number of connectors, charging power, and pricing.
- XPENG app – Enjoy a fully digital experience from start to finish within the app: initiate charging, make payments, and receive receipts. First-time users only need to register once with an email address and credit card to get started.
- Charging card – Tap your card to access every charger in the Plugsurfing network.New XPENG owners will receive a complimentary card upon delivery.
Announced during XPENG’s ‘Global Brand Night’ in Hong Kong by CEO He Xiaopeng, this deepening partnership gives XPENG drivers access to a comprehensive charging network across Europe.
How the integration works
XPENG connects their app and car dashboards to our charging network through Plugsurfing’s Drive API. This allows XPENG to add EV charging capability to their existing user experience. As a result, XPENG drivers get:
- Real-time information about available charging stations
- Current pricing before they charge
- The ability to start and stop charging from their phone or car
- Simple payment handling and receipts
Using the Drive API approach, XPENG retains complete control of its app and the driver relationship. In addition to the features provided by Plugsurfing, the XPENG team has added smart filters to find the right chargers and trip planning tools that fit local driving needs. This creates a seamless experience that matches how XPENG’s European customers drive and travel.

Our partnership with XPENG began in 2021, providing charging access for the Norwegian customers through a co-branded key. Now we’ve expanded to create a comprehensive charging solution across Europe, supporting XPENG’s ambitious growth.
