What is prepaid balance?
You can now add a prepaid balance to your Plugsurfing account. To sweeten the deal, we also top up your balance with a little extra. The more you buy, the more bonus you get.

How can you buy it?
Prepaid balance is available for Plugsurfing drivers based in Finland, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. You can buy prepaid balance with your Plugsurfing app. Here’s how it works:
- Open the Account tab
- Next to Balance, click on Add funds
- Choose how much balance you’d like to buy
- Select your payment method and click on Purchase
- The balance you bought and the bonus balance are added to your total balance, shown on the Account tab
How much bonus can you get?
For now, prepaid balance is only available for users based in Finland, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. Here are the available bundles:
- Pay €15, no bonus
- Pay €49, get €50.50 added to your balance
- Pay €89, get €92.50 added to your balance
- Pay €149, get €155 added to your balance
The bonus balance included in the bundles don’t differ from the balance you buy any other way, and they all go to the same total balance.
How do you use the prepaid balance?
After you’ve added funds, they’re shown on the account tab of your Plugsurfing app. When you charge your car, you first use your remaining balance. If you have multiple batches of funds, the ones expiring first will be used first.
If you run out of balance, your session is charged to the payment method you’ve set for your account. That’s why you still need to have an active payment method, even when you have enough funds to cover your charging session.
How long is the balance valid?
Your prepaid balance is good for one year from purchase.

With prepaid balance, you get a very hands-on way to control and keep track of how much you spend on charging. In addition, you get rewarded for your commitment to using our charging solution.
This also helps us build loyalty. We figured that if you’ve already spent money to buy something in advance, you’re more likely to use it than to let it expire. So experience the ease of public charging and make it a natural part of your daily routine.
